Updating Contrib Module Commands for DrupalConsole RC-1 Compatibility
September 21, 2016
The release of DrupalConsole RC-1 is imminent, with a target release date coinciding with DrupalCon Dublin, which is less than a week away.
Current Progress
Significant changes have been made over the past two months. The following milestones have been completed in preparation for the RC-1 release:
* Language files are now separate from the main project.
* Core commands and features were created for use across multiple projects.
* A new main repository has been established.
* A new global executable is available.
Next Steps
Once RC-1 is released, the immediate priority is to update modules that have existing DrupalConsole integrations. This work is scheduled to begin next week during DrupalCon.
The following list contains known contributed modules that provide commands. There are plans to assist in updating them for RC-1 compatibility.
- Metatag
- Webprofiler
- Drupal Commerce
- Configuration Split
- Scheduled Updates
If you are aware of other modules that contribute commands, please share them by commenting on this post or the related issue.
The Path to a Stable Release
The project is approaching a stable release, but there is still work to be done. Community contributions are welcome to help reach this goal. Here are some ways to get involved.
Are you a business owner?
Business owners whose companies have benefited from Drupal Console, or who plan to integrate it into their Drupal 8 workflow, are invited to contribute.
Contributions toward the 1.0.0 stable release can be made by assigning development resources to help complete pending tasks during office hours.
Are you an independent developer?
Independent developers can contribute by dedicating a few hours to resolving open issues. A variety of tasks are available at different complexity levels.
